Laugh Riot Comedy & Music Fest brings Cincinnati’s comedy and live-music scenes together for a summer-long, audience-powered showdown at The Comet.
Watch rising and veteran comics compete for cash and bookings—then keep the party going with loud local bands and Finals headlined by Daniel Van Kirk.

The First Annual Laugh Riot Comedy and Music Festival will take place July 11 - August 29 every Saturday at the Legendary Bar, The Comet. This Summer 56 Comedians will compete to win the first ever Laugh Riot Comedy and Music Festival. Starting July 11th through August 22nd, each Saturday 4 Rookies Comedians and 4 Veterans Comedians will compete in the preliminary rounds for audience votes and judges scores to move on to the Finals of the Laugh Riot Comedy and Music Festival.
August 28th, the winning Rookies from each round will compete in the Finals of the Laugh Riot Comedy and Music Festival.
August 29th, The winning Veterans from each round will compete in the Finals of the Laugh Riot Comedy and Music Festival.
Both Finals will be headlined by Daniel Van Kirk
After the laughs, the riot begins. Following each comedy show, the Comet has invited the best punk/metal/hardcore/rock bands in Cincinnati to play us into the night. The Comet has built a reputation for being a home to Cincinnati’s music scene, providing the first paid gigs and burritos to some of the City’s best bands, the same thing we are doing at Bombs Away! Comedy. This summer we are celebrating the best of The Comet has to offer, loud music, killer burritos, and big laughs. Tickets are priced low to ensure everyone can access the party!

How To Apply For The Laugh Riot Comedy Festival

32 Rookies and 32 Veterans will be selected, with 4 in each category being an alternate.
Prizes - Rookies and Veterans that win the preliminary rounds each week will win 1) $50, 2) a future booking with Bombs Away! Comedy, and 3) An Invitation to compete in the finals on August 28th (rookies) and August 29th (veterans)
The Finals - One Rookie and One Veteran comedian will win 1) $300, 2) a second future booking with Bombs Away! Comedy
Want to be involved, but don’t want to tell jokes, you’re in luck! The winners each week and in the finals are decided by Audience vote and Judges Scores, weighted equally. Each Audience member ill vote for their 2 favorite rookies and veterans, and the one rookie and veteran that wins will move on to the finals.
